You know I watched Oprah yesterday and the show was about where our food comes from and Proposition 2 on the California ballot and what an eye opener it was!
I think everyone has an idea of what a farm is in their head and let me tell you the new one's are something I never pictured in my head and don't want to ever again as far as egg, pig or veal farms go. I was repulsed and disgusted by what was presented on the show. If that's what farming has come to we need to reevaluate and check ourselves for a moment or two!
Egg farms are now a cement barn with hundreds of cages stacked on top of each other, six laying hens stuffed into each little cage without enough room to turn around in, they walk their entire lives on wire never to feel dirt or grass under their feet, no peace, no solace a sickening pathetic existence not worth any life form ever living! These are living creatures with brains, who think and feel! What the hell is wrong with these morons treating chickens like this just to increase their profit margin, this is sick behavior on the part of these so called farmer's a more suiting name could be sadistic bastards, moral degenerates! You can raise chickens to make eggs the old fashioned and humane way you just don't get as rich as one might like doing it but you can do it with some morals, ethics and social values in tact! Where do we draw the line where profit margins are concerned? Is the all mighty dollar more valuable to most than their ethic's and moral integrity, sadly to me it seems so today!
I saw cement barns where hundreds of pregnant pig's were held in tiny little wire crates, they could only move a foot forward or backward, no turning around, no side to side no ability to even clean themselves because they don't have enough room to turn their heads and lick themselves and this farmer thought he was being generous in the spacious nous of the cages! Put that mother fucker and his family in one and let them live out their life in one and I bet his opinion changes quick enough, this is sick, sick sick on so many levels in so many ways!!!!! We are suppose to be human beings with feelings like compassion, with morals and ethics regarding the way we treat life on this planet! This isn't right and everyone knows it but they do it for profit margins, I'm appalled to say the least. If you cannot raise animals for meat in a humane way and make your living doing it then you shouldn't be doing it at all!
The facts are you can! You can raise veal, pork and chickens all in humane and more normal ways and it's proven everyday more and more as more people resort to more decent ways of farming thus proving these impudent, sadistic, greedy insane mad men wrong everyday. I can't believe that as a society of civilized human beings that we would continue to allow these sick bastards to farms in these sick and sadistic ways and still call ourselves human beings, still consider ourselves to be civilized and decent because that's not! I will never understand the value some humans place on money, it's just beyond my comprehension and thank god because I would rather kill myself than lower myself to such hideous and degenerate standards.
There are ways to stop this behavior, laws for one but a more effective and probably quicker way is to ONLY buy free range meat. It may be a tiny bit more expensive but it's much more humane, civilized and morally as well as ethically correct thing to do. Once it becomes the "norm" as it once was the prices will settle. This one egg farmers big argument to treating his chickens human was he couldn't produce enough egg but he is proven wrong by lots of farmers doing just that! He said we would buy our eggs from Mexico or China, well they don't produce enough eggs to sell to us and feed themselves so that's plain BULLSHIT! It would be a little more work for his lazy ass but it's the right thing to do and if he doesn't like it then maybe he should find a different way to earn a living. It might not fatted his bank account quite as much or as fast but at least he could be considered a decent human being instead of a sadistic beast, demon possessed pervert!
I do not know why so many have difficulty putting a proper perspective on money but the priority that some people assign it sickens me. It saddens me greatly to know that there will always be people in existence like this so that we have to try and make laws that force them to have morals, ethics and other human traits that seem so normal to me. I find it disgusting that some place so much importance and value on the almighty dollar that they will sacrifice all that is holy and decent to attain more dollars then they can possibly need or use. That they will use and abuse any and all for the sake of their bank accounts and bottom lines, refuse to treat even humans fair or pay them fair just to have more for themselves when they already have more than they can possibly use or need, this mentality just fails me in every way and on every level and that really, really sucks for mankind as well as the planet we call home!
